A little share I can give to the server

as a computer science student, I was planning to make a website for legends... I won't mind any payment or whatever, but a little credit will do





I mean, making a website is not that hard as you think it is.. after all, you'll just need a notepad and an internet connection... Which everyone has who plays in this server...

any Ideas what I shall put in it? other than minecraft related pictures

Ooo! Well, depending on what you feel like doing.... I have a temporary one up at legendsmc.webs.com

I was looking to use the site as a gather point for new people. Have it basically have links to our various important things, like the map, stats page, these forums.. also to have a central page where I can post all the major current news. Like if the server goes down, be able to explain what's going on and such. Also when we get a new pkugin to be able to post about for everyone to easily read...

Also note, a good website, or at least admining our current one grants you mod status

what'd ya think? that's just the header for the page I was thinking about... I can't host it to be published on the net cuz I can only go 30 day trial for an official website i.e ftp.legendsmc.com or what not

don't worry about hosting, I can do that from our server!

Link to that guy also. I still need to fill it out I know I know haha....

When the 1.8 update comes out, I plan on having some of the bigger more permanent towns have their own spots with descriptions etc on the webpage.... That can be added now or just planned for now and added later... I still don't know exactly how I will work it out lol.

just let me know when we need additions on the web page before we literally publish it... I still don't know how web pages run after being published... haven't published my first webpage before lol... all I know is the commands and stuffs to fill in the requirements to make a web page using notepad... html

I actually JUST learned how they work myself to get this MC server crap going haha. Basically, you install a program which serves webpages, you designate which folder it will look in for the webpage, and any files you place in there get served as a webpage. So I have ours set to look in a specific folder, for files named "index.php" which is the front, main site. From there you can branch off and link to other .php files(pages) or just hyperlink to other sites, as would be done on yours to link to the forums and such.

for hyperlinks, I'm pretty much aware of that... I'll send you what I have done so far

I can go around and take pics of the good builds and you can put it in a Gallery for the Website. Or, we can mix them together, add some creative touches and make some wicked backgrounds. Tell me what you think.

I think we need a good header and emblem. On the top of the forums you got a pretty good header, with a little more color and maybe a background pic of an epic town or landscape, it'd be perfect! As for the emblem thing, idk. We need some kind of symbol. Like a giant, epic building, sunshine, purrdy pale sky, and then the letter "L" with "egends" in small font below it. Of course the font would have to be EPIC. idk just some thoughts...

I thought it would be cool if you could some how put in the html code of the Dynamic map into the Home page of the wedsite. That way, people would spend more time on the actual website and not clicking little links. And then you could have a button up next to the home button (I forgot the name ) that says "maps". That would be for the actual pictures of the map.

I added the dynamic map on the web page... although switching pages takes me more than 1 notepad... I'm still gonna work on this...

If I put a history window, I may as well put "Towns" window so that they may know who runs the town and who are the members of the town... so they won't go running off with some people they might not like I'm not saying we might make them rage quit and all... just saying, let them know who runs and who the members are... and shall I put where the towns are located? or not?

Okay! I have a SMP Texture pack, it's a kind of RPGish texture pack. I can take pics of players in epic battle poses and battling too, it'll add a nice lively bit to the people looking though the gallery seeing if they want to join. ...I just need people with skins. The last thing we need is a bunch of Steve's in all the pics
